About the project

The concept for Mountain Labradors emerged from recognizing the unique challenges faced by ethical dog breeders in building trust with potential families. I wanted to create a site that felt authentic and family-oriented while establishing credibility in an industry where transparency is paramount.

Based in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, this fictional breeding program focuses on raising high-quality English Labrador Retrievers with an emphasis on health testing, proper socialization, and responsible breeding practices that prioritize the dogs' wellbeing above all else.

The overall design focused on creating a warm, trustworthy experience that would resonate with families seeking a lifelong companion. Every element was crafted to showcase the breeder's commitment to ethical practices while making the journey from curiosity to welcoming home their furever family member feel personal and supported.

Using my 2 week custom website base design, I created their website with easy navigation, a guided application process, and breed information in mind because welcoming a puppy into a family is big decision.

From the start, I used bold simplicity with strategic intent - beginning with a homepage that immediately showcases their ethically-bred, high-quality Labradors.

The navigation thoughtfully places dedicated pages right next to the main call-to-action, allowing visitors to easily explore breed information, the puppy adoption process, applications, and pricing.

In addition to the website, I included Squarespace form integrations and connected their social media platforms to meet their small family business needs, allowing visitors to contact them with ease.

Intentional design with a bold color palette and fun visuals of their Labradors helps potential families visualize what life will be like with their new furever family member, while the site feels easy to interact with yet remains warm and educational.
